The Government Entity I work for hasn’t given us a raise for the past 11 years.

How is someone supposed to live on the same salary for 11 years?

Do you know of anything that has stayed the same for 11 years except for salaries?

While the Government Entity has voted themselves a raise every year.

I guess they feel their more important than the people that actually deliver the services.

Or their constituents that receive these services and pay their salaries.

Then on top of that they want to Kill the UNIONS!

But don’t worry, the Tax Cut and Jobs Act of 2017 is going to Save The Day!

Because of the Tax Cut and Jobs Act of 2017 I can Live the American Dream!

And live happily ever after!

Surprise, Surprise, Surprise!

The Tax Cut and Jobs Act of 2017 did little to cut taxes for us the workers with families who need it the most.

Barely one-third of working families in the bottom 50% of earners own stocks, according to the Fed.

Lower-income Working Americans don’t have extra money to put into stocks, and a third of us don’t even have access to a 401(k) or other retirement plan, according to the Pew.

Young people are also less likely to benefit from the rally.

Less than a third of people ages 18 to 29 owned stocks on average between 2009 and 2017, according to a Gallup survey released in April.

Nearly two-thirds of Americans between 30 and 64 own stocks.

On the other hand, nearly 94% of the top income group owned stocks in 2016.

Current data shows that the wealthiest one-percent of our country were the largest beneficiaries of the tax cut.

The main reason the wealthy benefited is because the corporate tax rates fell from 35% to 21%.

Treasury Secretary Mnuchin pleaded with CEO’s to use the tax cut to reinvest in the economy and to provide wage increases.

But the data shows most of the money was plowed into corporate share buybacks to boost executive compensation.

Who would have thought?

That Executives only care about themselves and don’t give a manure about the worker.

As we can see around us every day, that the spoils of stock market runs are slanted heavily in favor of the wealthy.

So, what did we do to be treated like this?  If we didn’t do our jobs none of this would even be possible.

Aren’t we the ones who should be enjoying the fruits of our labor?

 

WARNING! Social Security to Tap into Trust Fund for First Time In 36 Years!

While the projection for Social Security’s stayed the same as last year, for the first time since 1982, Social Security must dip into the trust fund to pay for the program this year.

Social Security trustees said that reserves for the fund that pays disability benefits would be exhausted in 2032.

Social Security’s trustees said the program’s two trust funds would be depleted in 2034.

It should be stressed that the reports don’t indicate that benefits disappear in those years.

After 2034, Social Security’s trustees said tax income would be sufficient to pay only about three-quarters of retirees’ benefits.

Of Course, congress could at any time choose to pay for the benefits through the general fund.

Given our current Congresses lack of action, I don’t see that happening.

Treasury Secretary Steven Mnuchin said in a statement that “lackluster economic growth in previous years,” as well as an aging population, has contributed to shortages for both Social Security and Medicare.

He said the Trump administration’s economic agenda, including tax cuts and trade deals, would generate growth and help to secure the programs.

Yea and I believe in unicorns.

AARP said in a statement that the report showed “challenges ahead for the long term,”  and singled out health care for action during the election year.

Medicare is Dying! What Am I supposed To Do Now?

Medicare’s finances were downgraded in a new report from the program’s trustees.

Medicare’s hospital insurance fund will be depleted in 2026, said the trustees who oversee the benefit program in an annual report.

That is three years earlier than projected last year.

Medicare beneficiaries wouldn’t face an immediate cut after the trust fund is depleted in 2026.

The trustees said the share of benefits that can be paid from revenues will decline to 78% in 2039.

That share rises again to 85% in 2092.

The hospital fund is financed mainly through payroll taxes.

The trustees said Medicare’s changed outlook is due to adverse changes in the program’s income and costs.

Hospital insurance fund income is projected to be lower than last year’s estimates

thanks to “lower payroll taxes attributable to lowered wages in 2017 and lower levels of projected GDP,” the trustees said.

And hospital insurance fund expenditures are expected to be higher than last year’s estimates, the trustees said.

Time is precious and every day you are asked to make thousands of choices that defines who you are.

Finding the choices that really matter to you will help you not to waste your precious time in life.

So you must choose wisely! Be aware and clear. Know and claim the choices that lead you to your passion.

The things we do at work transforms the way other people view us.

Knowing yourself and feeling confident about yourself helps a lot in finding your passion at work.

This begins with accurate understanding of your strengths and values – it’s what makes you feel good about yourself.

Majority of your strengths and values can be determined even at young age.

Being successful at work means you can freely use all of these strengths as well as fulfill your values.

Personal mastery is not something you can accomplish overnight.

It is not just going beyond what you can do with your skills and talents. Personal mastery is how you understand and direct your life.

For an organization to succeed, each person member of the organization has to be part of the organization purpose and make it their own personal purpose.

When each member of the organization adapts the organization purpose as their purpose, personal and organization growth increases.

Imagine the power of an organization whose member believe and are committed to one idea? This is the deepest commitment an organization could ever have.

On a “journey” towards personal mastery, you are in search for your life direction and purpose. You are aware of your personal weaknesses and strength, responsible for your actions and accept who you are.

Followers of personal mastery are capable of accepting the harsh realities and learn to adapt with the changes happening in their surroundings. Those who have high level of personal mastery are able to commit into their lives and see themselves as part of the whole.

These people when combined with the members of the group or an organization, can influence others to have the same thought. They can influence but not control.

Since they are grounded to reality, they can objectively identify the areas where improvements are needed in the organization. They become a part of the system and see themselves as part of the holistic development of the organization.

Not only do people with high level pf personal mastery able to influence others, their commitment could also be an example and they could also take on leadership in the organization.

Effective managing is one of the necessary methods that can be performed to help other organization members to commit into the organization’s purpose. Simple act like coaching and counseling can be a great help for promoting personal growth.

Personal mastery also helps organization members to step out of the box or their comfort zones. Some organization leaders are not comfortable would this idea sometimes, especially if the activities in the comfort zone are those that have produced success. But stepping out of the comfort zone strips people of the self-imposed limitations.

Personal mastery is about expressing your talents and yourself in creative manner.

Growth and development are the concepts encouraged by personal mastery. When organization members are working to attain personal mastery, their personal vision clears and starts getting fulfilled.

There are changes that can happen when organization members work for personal mastery like easy resolution even in hard issues and cases, teams and groups work easily even if they do not belong in the same department and accomplishments is starting to be common in the organization.

An organization can help their members to attain personal mastery, there are training’s, consultancy and coaching which can be provided to individuals, teams and even to the whole organization.

Training and consultations could include self-leadership, stress- management, well-being, emotional and social intelligence and other related disciplines.

Dealing with these different aspects would surely improve the organization performance. Organizations should capitalize on their most important asset, their people.

Perhaps, for a short period of time such boost may be true, however in the long run, the effect of the tobacco consumption may be more dangerous to your brain than what you have expected.

An Addiction Research Center conducted a research regarding the long-term effects of alcohol on an alcoholic’s brain functioning.

As expected, alcohol was found to be associated with mental problems and lower IQ scores. And as an addition to their findings, they also found out that long-term smoking has an effect on decreased brain power.

The results showed that alcohol has more severe effects on the thinking skills of alcoholic men who have been smoking for quite some time already.

It has an adverse effect on memory, problem-solving skills and even the IQ of these men.

Among these alcoholic subjects, cigarette smoking was seen to be related to reduced mental functioning.

However, even though the cause and effect relationship between smoking and the decreased mental performance was not clearly established, there are still some things which point out to the fact that cigarettes are the cause to such effect

. In order to prove this point, more studies will have to be conducted.

Aside from these bad vices, there are still other things which may cause the reduction of your brain power.

Other Short-term Causes for Poor Thinking Performance

According to some more studies, foods which include artificial food coloring and sweeteners may be bad for the brain, more especially if they are consumed in large quantities.

Usually, the children are the ones more affected negatively by these artificial flavorings and coloring’s. Examples of these kinds of foods are colas, white bread and hydrogenated oils.

The hydrogenated oils may cause the clogging of the arteries, and thus may result to heart diseases. Because of the clogs, it would be harder for the blood to flow to the brain.

Artificially sweetened foods are unhealthy as well because they can cause fluctuations in blood sugar levels. These fluctuations may cause short-term brain fogging and even diabetes. Thus, it would be wiser for you to stay away from excessive sugar products.

Aside from these foods, other intangible things are believed to cause decrease of brain power.

Personal problems such as egotism may be a factor. Because of egotism, a person may limit ideas into just one view, which is their own. Because of egotism, we become settled with just our original thought and think that since these thoughts are more important than others then there is no more need to look at the ideas that come from others.

As you may have noticed, the effects of the bad eating habits as well as the personal problems may just be temporary.

To be specific, you need to include the full details. Write down something like, “I want to get $1 million by October of this year.” or “I need to become key supervisor of the sales division by next week.” or “I want my kids, Taylor and Chad, to become best friends beginning tomorrow.”

Include the names, the position, the amount, the date and everything else needed to train your mind to start working towards that goal.

Being Measurable
Goals need to be measurable so that you can gauge how well you have done lately.
To help measure your paths and goals, you should include measurable details.

For your job, you can include details such as the number of hours you’re working, the amount you’re earning, the staff you’re handling, etc.

For the goal of money, you can include details such as the amount you want to have as a whole, the number of companies or businesses you own, your contact persons, etc.

Always have things and items to be measured so you can understand how close you are to getting your goals. If your goal is to earn $100,000 a month, then you know you’re halfway there if you’re already earning $50,000 a month.

Being Attainable and Realistic
Only set goals that can possibly be accomplished.

Some people set goals that are too high to reach, that they are almost setting up things that are impossible.

Make sure you only set objectives that you can reach within a given amount of time, provided the current resources and capabilities you have.

Some examples of impossible goals are doubling your salary overnight, getting a promotion higher than your boss’s position, etc.

Some goals can be achieved faster compared to others if you have some strengths and paths to back these up.

Always include a strategic plan for big objectives.

Time-Bound
Set deadlines to achieve your goals or else you’ll never going to finish anything.

Stay specific when setting timelines and schedules.

For example, indicate things like “To spend an hour with my wife everyday starting tomorrow (indicate exact date and year)”.

Setting the exact time and date will spur you to start working on your goals, instead of putting it off for another available time.

Some goals can take years to accomplish so it is wiser to break these down into smaller objectives, still complete with deadlines.

You can finish everything in a sequence to finally reach the biggest one.
